Eva Braun: Who is she
Eva Braun, probably sounds familiar, but who is she? Well, she's not a hollywood actor, but she is Hitler’s mistress, and, for 40 hours, his wife. Were they truly in love? Was she a sex slave? What was her role in Nazi Politics? All of these questions will be answered in this Article.
Biography
Eva Braun was born in 1912 to a middle class family in Munich, Germany. She was born to a school teacher named Friedrich Braun and Franziska Kronbergera. She was an average student, and showed no extraordinary talents, and did not care for school. She went to school at a convent, but left as she lacked the motivation and will to continue. She was like a teenage girl on a nickelodeon sitcom, being interested in clothes and boys. She, at the age of 17, became an assistant for Hitler’s photographer, Heinrich Hoffman. This is how she would meet Hitler.
One day in 1929, she met the Middle Aged Hitler for the first time. He was 23 years her senior, her being 17 and, him being 40. They didn’t become romantically involved until 1930, after one of Hitler’s mistresses committed suicide. Eva Braun was arguably the first fanatic follower of Hitler, as she practically worshiped him. She did not spend much time with her, as he devoted most of his time to the Nazi party. The lack of his presence probably contributed to her devotion, as in her loneliness, she glorified him.
She was often lonely during their relationship, as he, after all, was the leader of the Nazi Party, and later the Fuhrer. She was deeply unhappy, and attempted suicide twice. She was constantly insecure, like Potimkin and Catherine the Great. She constantly feared he would leave her, as displayed in this excerpt from her diary.
“There is only one thing I want. I would like to be seriously ill, and to hear nothing more about him for at least a week. Why doesn't something happen to me? Why do I have to go through all this? If only I had never set eyes on him! I am utterly miserable. I shall go out and buy some more sleeping powder and go into a half-dreamlike state, and then I won't think about it so much.
Why doesn't that Devil take me with him? It would be much better with him than it is here.
I waited for three hours in front of the Carlton, and had to watch him buying flowers for Ondra and inviting her to dinner. (That was just my mad imagination. March 16th.)”

Her sadness stemmed from her loneliness, and lack of attention from her lover, Adolf Hitler. All of this unhappiness culminated in her attempted suicide, in 1932 and 1935. The following is an excerpt from her 1935 diary, declaring her intent to kill herself
“I have just sent him the crucial letter. Question: will he attach any importance to it?
We'll see. If I don't get an answer before this evening, I'll take 25 pills and gently fall asleep into another world.
He has so often told me he is madly in love with me, but what does that mean when I haven't had a good word from him in three months?
So he has had a head full of politics all this time, but surely it is time he relaxed a little. What happened last year? Didn't Roehm and Italy give him a lot of problems, but in spite of all that he found time for me.”
After this, Hitler gave her an apartment in Berlin. She did not really care about the war or politics, the most she did was participate in the Nuremberg Convention. She remained untouched by the war until the end, when the tides turned against Germany. The reason Hitler liked her so much, was that she did not wish to interfere with politics.
Once the Soviets entered Germany, Hitler and her decided, that it would be better to die at their own hands, then be kidnapped by the enemies. They married on April 29th, and, on April 30th, 1945, She poisoned herself, while her partner Hitler, shot himself.
In Summary,
She was an average student.
Hitler Kept her as a mistress
She was deeply unhappy when he was away
She had no influence on the politics of the Reich..
